Motivated by many local and organic sources of foods, the flavors and textures of Michaels cuisine is simple yet elegantly refined. Restaurant Director, Nancy Smith coordinates the service of our superb wait staff in a stylish and graceful dining room. An extensive wine list offers over 300 world wide selections; a number of which include labels from boutique vintners whose style reflects a taste of place. For corporate events, receptions and private dinners; Michael Smith presents one of Kansas Citys premier private dining rooms complete with audio visual capabilities and a 50 inch flat panel display. In addition to creating specialized menus with Chef Michael Smith and Chef de Cuisine, Carl Thorne-Thomsen we can offer the expertise of Wine Director, Jamie Routeledge in selecting from our Wine Spectator Award winning list. " The service was wonderful. My veal dish was already pretty well seasoned, and the sauce that was for it made it too salty. The filet dish side items were way over seasoned. The protein of both dishes were delicious and expertly cooked. "

" Michael Smith's food was the best I have ever had! Their culinary creations (which they truly were) mixed flavors that I never anticipated would taste good together. I can't wait to go back! The only thing I didn't like about the restaurant was the atmosphere. It didn't really have a feel. It was just a square room painted a greenish-color. To be honest, it felt inadequate compared to how good the food was. Despite the lack of atmosphere, I will definitely go back!
