Cellar Rat

You will see and smell and taste wine in a whole new way.  This class will taste and evaluate six wines -   The table will also be filled with wine glasses containing 48 common aromas and flavors found in wine.  The course also highlights important tasting techniques and reviews the vocabulary used to describe wines.  We will review the five S's of tasting and will have you ready to impress your friends with your new-found tasting skills.

Due to the amount of 'stuff' on the table, this class is limited to the first 10 students.  $30 includes professional instruction by our wine educators. 816.221.9463 for reservations.

Valentine’s Day 2009

The Westin Crown Center offers a romance room package in conjunction with Valentine’s Day as well as a special menu in Benton’s Steak & Chop House. In 2007, the restaurant introduced a Good Morning coffee cake. Customers were so impressed with the added touch that it has become a new tradition for Benton’s. Anyone who dines at Benton’s Steak and Chop House on Valentine’s Day will receive a specially-prepared “good morning” coffee cake with an edible note from the chef. The cakes are wrapped and ready to take home as couples leave the restaurant and are perfect for a romantic breakfast the next morning.

Easter Brunch

Families can participate in a variety of Easter activities at the Westin Crown Center Hotel’s restaurants, Benton’s Steak and Chop House and The Brasserie, during its annual Easter brunch. In addition to the food, the Westin Crown Center provides a variety of family Easter activities throughout the hotel’s lobby and restaurants. The Easter Bunny will greet visitors and oversee a special egg hunt at noon. Children also can participate in a craft-making station and enjoy youth-sized buffets serving traditional kid favorites, such as pizza and chicken fingers. The adult rate for brunch is $45 in Benton’s, $30 at Brasserie and children are less.

Mother’s Day Brunch

Mothers and their families can relax in an elegant atmosphere overlooking the city this Mother’s Day while enjoying a one-of-a-kind meal at Benton’s Steak & Chop House or bring their group to a casual family-style brunch in the lobby-level Brasserie restaurant to enjoy delicious fare and live piano music.

As a special treat the Westin presents all mothers with gifts in celebration of Mother’s Day and features exceptional pianist performances in both restaurants. Mothers can sit back and enjoy the brunch while children are engaged in a special area in the lobby designed to entertain youngsters. The adult rate for brunch in Benton’s is $45, in the Brassiere it’s $29 and children are less.

 
 

Memorial Day Weekend

Saturday, May 24 and brunch on Sunday, May 25.

KC Live! is an entire city block of hot spots within the Kansas City Power & Light District. With two levels and fourteen (14) high energy entertainment, nightlife and dining establishments, it is sure to excite everyone in your group! Live entertainment is a frequent happening at the KC Live! Stage. Several concerts series and events are planned for KC Live! and the District. On May 29, the Hot Country Nights series will kick off 15 weeks of the newest, hottest country music every Thursday night. Rock the Block concert series begins Wednesday, June 4, and features 10 weeks of new, alternative rock groups every Wednesday. A Homegrown Music series begins Wednesday, August 6. KC Live! is located between Grand Boulevard and Walnut Street and 13th and 14th Streets.
