Childhood friends since their days of little league baseball, Dave Quirarte, Jr. and Ron Abarcas friendship grew over the years into a successful partnership with the creation of Margaritas in Kansas City. The beginnings were simple enough. As night shift workers at a local automobile plant, Dave and Ron began making and selling burritos to their fellow workers. After finishing their shift, they would begin in earnest to make burritos for the coming day shift workers. Their batch of 50 burritos would sell out each day and by the end of the first month they were selling 300 per day. Now they were rolling. The first Margaritas restaurant opened in October 1985. With an established clientele longing for their classic style burritos and a couple of well timed articles, business started booming.

" I went in for lunch, and had their lunch taco special. The service was great, the salsa was robust, and the meat was seasoned well. I thought the bartender was funny and attentive. I was in and out of restaurant in thirty minutes. "
" One of our favorite Mexican restaurants in KC. The pepper cheese and spinach enchiladas (we add chicken) is about the only item we ever order because it's so good. The chicken is always high quality white meat and there is never a bad bite. The place is exactly what you would expect from a KC Mexican restaurant. The downtown location had a relatively recent paint job and is spruced up a bit. The service is always good even when I have gone with my work group of 20 people. Would recommend for anyone wanting some pretty standard but delicious Mexican food."
